Summer Hours

Beginning Friday, July 10, 2026, and continuing through Friday, September 4, 2026, the college’s annual summer Friday closure schedule will be in effect.

The process outlined below will be identical to what the College has followed for several years without any significant changes. Some programs will be closed entirely on Fridays, some will remain available virtually until noon, and a few others will maintain their regular operating schedule virtually.

The purpose of the summer schedule is to save utilities each week during the warmer months and also to recognize how our employees appreciate the flexibility for their work schedules during the summer.

Some options for work schedules, with supervisor approval and if it meets departmental needs, are to work four 10-hour days, to work four 9-hour days plus a 4-hour day on Friday (remote), or to continue working five 8-hour days (with Fridays remote). A few departments, such as Security, Facilities and EHS, will maintain a presence on campus on Fridays to keep the College operating, and also because some of their work is outdoors or they need to access buildings when not occupied*.

Below, please find information about the availability of college services during our summer closure period.

For any employees who have to work above 80+ degrees, heat safety training will be given. The College will be sending out additional reminders about heat safety and weather forecasts, as well.
