Life Insurance
Clark College provides Basic Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) for benefits eligible employees at no cost to the employee. This coverage is offered through MetLife.
Basic Life Insurance
$35,000 Basic Life Insurance for death from any cause and $5,000 Basic Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. It is highly recommended you name your beneficiary for this coverage, even if you do not purchase additional insurance.
Optional Life Insurance
Employees may purchase additional term life optional insurance coverage for themselves, a spouse, and their dependent children as well as additional optional AD&D insurance.

Enrollment Deadlines
Employees may apply for up to the guaranteed issue amounts of optional life insurance without submitting evidence of insurability to MetLife:
- No later than 31 days after the date the employee becomes eligible for PEBB benefits.
If an employee has a qualifying event that creates a special open enrollment (such as marriage, birth or adoption of a child), they may apply for up to the guaranteed issue amounts of optional life insurance without submitting evidence of insurability to MetLife:
- No later than 60 days after the date of marriage or state domestic partnership registration.
- No later than 60 days after the birth or adoption of a child, once the child is 14 days old.
If you wish to increase coverage after your grace period ends, a Statement of Health will be required and approval will be determined by the insurance company.
