Employee Recognition
Clark College strives to be a workplace where employees feel valued and recognized for all the hard work they do. The college has established several traditions to help shine a spotlight on employees’ talent, dedication, and commitment to our students and our community.
Every year on Opening Day in September, employees gather to greet the new academic year and catch up with each other after the summer. During that event, the college recognizes employees for their years of service to the college. Longtime employees—including some who have worked at the college for three decades—often receive standing ovations.
In December, the college welcomes retired employees back to the main campus for a winter reception. This is a chance for them to connect with old colleagues, see changes at the college, and receive appreciation for their years of service.
The college also hosts multiple awards programs geared toward specific groups of employees. These include:
- Administrative Exempt Award
- Classified Staff Awards
- Exceptional Faculty Awards
- Lora Whitfield Social Equity Award
From 2007 to winter 2019, former Clark College President Robert K. Knight honored members of the Clark community with Presidential Coins. While the Presidential Coin award was discontinued when President Knight retired, you can read about recipients on our news site.
