- Policy Statement
The Institutional Excellence Committee (IEC) is responsible for monitoring and assessing Clark College's progress towards mission fulfillment. The IEC promotes institutional effectiveness by aligning the college's planning, budgeting, and assessment processes with its strategic plan, accreditation standards, and relevant federal, state, and local requirements. Committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the IEC supports continuous quality improvement in student achievement, outcomes, and unit activities through evidence-based inquiry and action.
The committee will meet at least once a quarter during the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters and members will serve a 3-year term.
- Reason for Policy
The IEC provides oversight on college planning practices and the institutional assessment process. Specifically, this committee will:
- Guide the strategic planning process.
- Develop, review, and propose revisions to EC on institutional KPIs, definitions, and benchmarks
- Review KPI data and recommend plans of improvement to EC, as appropriate.
- Communicate with associated groups across campus to promote assessment efforts and to help inform of processes, timelines, etc.
- Participate in the accreditation process.
- Provide leadership for the review, revisions, and updates to the college’s strategic plan.
- Review and update the college’s integrated planning, budgeting, and assessment calendar.
- Review the results of institutional-level surveys and recommend plans of improvement to EC, as appropriate.

- CCAHE representative (1) (appointed by CCAHE)
- WPEA representative (1) (appointed by WPEA)
- HR (1) (appointed by the Vice President of Human Resources)
- IT (1) (appointed by the Vice President of Information Technology)
- ODEI (1) (appointed by the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)

- Definitions
- Institutional Effectiveness – a process of documenting the extent to which Clark College fulfills its mission and achieves the tenets of its Equity-Centered Strategic Plan.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - provide a framework for measuring progress towards the equity-centered strategic plan tenets and priorities KPIs enable institutions to track performance, identify disparities, and make data-driven decisions to promote equity.
