This face-to-face workshop is designed for instructors who will teach online, hybrid, or web-enhanced courses for Clark College. By the completion of the workshop (both f2f and post-work), you should have a basic understanding of the main features of Canvas, have a clear understanding of how Canvas will be used at Clark College, have at least one of your Moodle courses imported into Canvas, have completed follow-up tasks and quizzes, and then be ready to move into the Canvas 201 (teaching online) workshop. Complete resources are available to provide more depth of topics, similar to an online version of workshop.

This face-to-face workshop is designed for instructors who will teach an online or hybrid course for Clark College. By the end of the workshop, you should have a working knowledge of most features in the Canvas LMS with attention on those more advanced features used for effective online learning and the implementation of Quality Matters standards in your course, have at least one of your courses fully developed in Canvas, and be ready to start teaching.

This workshop provides first-hand experience with the teaching aspects of Canvas, including posting announcements, creating and setting up grading rubrics and experience grading and feedback, study student tracking tools, and making your course available for students (publishing). Resources are available to provide more depth of topics, similar to online version of workshop.

Faculty advisor training is offered for all faculty interested in learning more about advising, advising tools, and advising resources and information. Topics will include contact and referral information, Advising technologies, educational plans, strategies for working with students in academic difficulties, and other advising related issues.

New faculty advisors should attend the full session. Returning faculty advisors are only required to attend from 2:30-3:30, although if faculty members would like a full refresher they are welcome to attend for the full amount of time.

Participation is required to be eligible for the faculty advising stipend. In order to create user accounts for the technologies used please make sure to RSVP to Advising Services as noted below.

This workshop is designed to help coach employees who may find themselves in tense situations with students. We will offer useful tools, utilize scenarios to work through situations, provide information on campus resources and allow networking with fellow employees so that front line staff will feel more comfortable navigating their way through difficult conversations.
