We’re excited to announce that the Call for Proposals for the 2027 Northwest Regional Equity Conference (NWREC) opens October 15, 2026.

Art as Legacy & Liberation | Art as Healing

The 2027 conference invites us to explore the transformative power of art and creative expression in advancing equity, justice, healing, and community.
Across the Black and African Diaspora, Indigenous communities, and cultures around the world, art has long been a powerful vehicle for resistance, storytelling, transformation, remembrance, and connection.

At NWREC 2027, we recognize that equity work is rooted not only in policy and practice, but also in creativity, culture, memory, and connection.

Through storytelling, visual art, performance, music, writing, and other forms of embodied learning, we invite presenters and participants to explore how creative expression can:

We welcome proposals that reflect a broad range of lived experiences, perspectives, cultural traditions, and creative practices.

Whether you are an educator, nonprofit leader, public servant, student, community organizer, artist, activist, or someone advancing equity in your community, we invite you to bring your knowledge, creativity, and experience to the NWREC community.
