Enrollment Information and Registration Dates

Students are responsible for understanding and complying with college registration dates and withdraw policies. If a student registers for a class and decides to withdraw, the student must notify Clark College in writing at registration@clark.edu to withdraw from the CHS class. Notifying the high school does not notify the college.

Steps to Register:

1. Students must apply for admission to Clark College. Get started here.

2. Notify your high school instructor that you would like to enroll and provide your ctcLink ID number.

Fall Semester 2021

October 15, 2021: Admission and course registration due for fall semester courses

October 30, 2021: Last day to drop without full course payment

November 30, 2021: Payment due from school districts

December 31, 2021: Last day to drop with a “W” grade on transcript. No refunds will be issued. Students must notify Clark College in writing at registration@clark.edu to withdraw from the CHS class. Notifying the high school does not notify the college. Failure to notify Clark College may result in a failing grade posted on the transcript and cause Title IV Financial Aid implications.

January 31, 2022: Grades are due from College in the High School instructors. Official grades will posted within two weeks of grade submissions.

Spring Semester 2022

March 15, 2022: Admission and course registration due for spring semester courses

Cost

College in the High School costs $65 per credit, with no additional fees. This is a discount from credit plus fees cost at the regular tuition rate at Clark College and tuition costs at other universities.

Tuition cost for this class at a university: More than $1,000 + fees

Placement Testing

The goal of placement is to assess skills to ensure students are able to successfully engage with course content and have the best chances at passing the course. Many courses at Clark College have placement prerequisites for reading and mathematics ability. Contact the Assessment Center at 360-992-2588 or assessdept@clark.edu for more information.

Plan for Your Future

Please keep in mind that your concurrent enrollment classes will be a permanent part of your college record. The grades you receive will count toward your cumulative college GPA and will impact your future college career. Understand that you will be required to send a Clark College transcript to all colleges you attend in the future, and you will be held to college policies regarding satisfactory academic progress and financial aid eligibility based on your academic performance.

Legal Rights

FERPA The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law which gives college students the right to control disclosure of private education records. If you would like your parent or guardian to have access to your records, you must sign a release of information form. More information on FERPA.

ADA If you have emergency medical information which should be shared; or if you require assistance in case the building should be evacuated; please make an appointment to contact your instructor as soon as possible during the office hours indicated in this syllabus. Any student with a disability who may require accommodation in order to fully participate in the class should contact the Disability Support Services Office at (360) 992-2314 or (360) 991-0901 (VP) or stop by GHL 137.

Impact on Future Financial Aid Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy Students must meet Federal Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy requirements to remain eligible.

All terms of attendance, including those in which financial aid was not received, are used in determining SAP status—this includes College in the High School courses. Learning Resources

College in the High School students have access to several academic resources including the Clark College Libraries and Tutoring Services. Whether you need a book, newspaper, recording, or even a laptop or calculator, Clark College Libraries can provide many materials and resources to assist you in your academic journey. Tutoring services are also free and available to you. Friendly, and supportive tutors can help you with a numbers of studies such as business, English, math, and science.

College in the High School students have access to all of the student support services available to Clark College students. These services and resources exist to ensure each you have what you need to be successful academically, socially, emotionally, and financially.
