International Baccalaureate (IB)

Clark College grants credit for completion of International Baccalaureate examinations.  The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a rigorous, pre-college course of study for high school students, designed to prepare students for liberal arts education at the college level. The term "international" reflects the availability of the program in several countries. The IB program is similar to the College Board Advanced Placement program. IB scores are based on rigorous coursework and a test score. Students must submit an official copy of IB scores to Enrollment Services Office. Upon evaluation of the scores, the student will be notified about acceptable credits.

Note: Students intending to transfer with an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science-Transfer degree should consult with the Admissions Office at the baccalaureate institution of their choice for information on IB credit policies. Not all institutions recognize IB credit posted to the Clark College transcript.

Procedure for Requesting IB Credits

 You should have an official copy of your IB scores sent to:

Once scores are received and reviewed, you will be notified via e-mail regarding the status of your IB scores.

Scores

A minimum score of four (4) or higher on the standard-level or higher-level examination is required for consideration of credit.

A maximum of forty-five (45) credits in IB coursework can apply to transfer degrees and a maximum of sixty (60) credits in IB coursework can apply to Career and Technical Education programs. Credit is posted with an “S” grade based on the following recommendations at the end of the term received:
