International Transcript Evaluations

Do you have transcripts from institutions outside of the United States that need to be evaluated for transfer credit at Clark College? Clark recognizes academic credits earned at international institutions that are equivalent in academic level and nature to coursework offered at Clark. Students are required to submit transcripts, in English and through a service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), from their international institution as part of the admissions process. Upon evaluation of the transcript, students will be notified of the transfer credit they are awarded. Credential Evaluations makes the final determination on credits awarded. Typical processing time for transcript evaluations at Clark ranges from 6-8 weeks.

In order for your international transcripts to be evaluated, please complete the following steps:

  1. Submit a State of Washington Community College Admissions Application.

If you hold a student visa, contact International Programs for application procedures. If you intend to pursue a selective admissions program at Clark, you will also need to submit the appropriate program application and pay the additional application fee.

  2. Submit an official copy of an evaluation to Enrollment Services from a NACES-approved evaluation service.

We require a full course-by-course evaluation of your records by an evaluation service that is approved by NACES. Course-by-course evaluations should include the following information: name of the institution, credential earned (if any), grade point average (GPA), course subject name(s), United States grade equivalent(s), and United States credit equivalent(s). The fees for international evaluation services vary by company, but they generally range from $200-275. The evaluation must be sent directly from the evaluation service to Clark College at enroll@clark.edu or by postal mail to the following address:

    Clark College
    Attn: Enrollment Services
    1933 Fort Vancouver Way
    Vancouver, WA 98663

Contact the evaluation service directly with any questions about fees or required documentation. A list of NACES-approved evaluation services can be found on the NACES website.
