Page Check In/Out
A light bulb icon indicates whether a page is checked in or out. There are three ways to check a page out (or in).
You must check a page out to edit it.
Method 1:
With the page already open and the 'Edit' button (at the top of the page) highlighted,
click the green 'Main Content' button. This will automatically check the page out
and put you in editing mode with one step.
Method 2;
In the folder view of your files, click the clear light bulb to check a page out. It will then turn
yellow, indicating you have the page checked out. Conversely, click on the yellow
light bulb to check a page in.
Once the page is checked out, click on the page name to open it.
Method 3:
When you have the page already open, click the light bulb at the top of the page,
to the left of the green Submit button.
** Because I am an administrator, my green button says 'Publish'. Your Submit button
will be in the same location as my Publish button.
A red lock indicates someone else has the page checked out. Hovering your mouse over
the lock icon will show who has the page checked out.
Keeping pages checked out can cause problems accessing them later, not only for other
users, but for you as well. If you are not submitting a page for publish immediatly, remember to check it in when you are done with each editing session.
