Upcoming Emergency Preparedness Training-Mindset Matters: An Introduction to Psychological First Aid, January 13th, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in PUB 258 B/C

Join us for an introduction to Psychological First Aid with Jodi Blackwood from Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA). We’ll talk about why stress and trauma are normal reactions to difficult events, what those reactions can look like, and simple ways to manage them. You’ll also learn practical skills for helping others feel safe, supported, and heard, and how good listening can make a real difference during tough moments.

Stefon Harris & Blackout in Concert, January 28th, 7:30 p.m. in GHL 150

The Clark College Foundation presents Stefon Harris & Blackout in concert. Stefon Harris & Blackout, led by the visionary vibraphonist Stefon Harris, is a pioneering force in contemporary jazz. Harris has been named DownBeat Critics Poll Vibraphonist of the Year multiple times and has been heralded as “one of the most important young artists in jazz” (Los Angeles Times). The band, characterized by a stellar lineup of musicians, seamlessly blends funk, R&B, and global influences, transcending traditional jazz boundaries. With influential albums like Sonic Creed (named Jazz Album of the Year by WBGO – the world's #1 jazz station) and Urbanus (Grammy-nominated), Stefon Harris & Blackout showcase a dynamic interplay of intricate arrangements and soulful improvisation, solidifying their status as trailblazers in the modern jazz landscape. Their performances promise an electrifying fusion of tradition and innovation, leaving an indelible mark on audiences and further shaping the evolving narrative of jazz expression.

New Art Exhibition: tell ___ 'hi' from me, November 13th - February 13th at Archer Gallery

Our new exhibit at Archer Gallery, tell ___ ‘hi’ from me, showcases the work of 27 self-taught, neurodivergent artists who live and create in Oregon and are members of the Portland-based Progressive Art Studio, North Pole Studio. This diverse collection of contemporary 2D and 3D works reflects honest creative expression and raw innovation. It honors the vitality of lifelong creative practice and re-imagines conventions in art-making. It invites the viewer to deepen their understanding of the Progressive Art Studio movement and artists working within it. tell ___ ‘hi’ speaks to presence, persistence, and belonging: ‘we’ve always been here, won’t you get to know us?’ … ‘it’s time you get to know us’.

Athletics

Discounted Fitness Center Passes

Currently enrolled students pay $10.00 / quarter to work out in the Clark College Fitness Center. Students take their photo ID to the Cashiers Office in Gaiser Hall to pay. Then, go to the Fitness Center in O'Connell Sports Complex (OSC). While supplies last.

Students who are currently enrolled in Physical Education, HPE 266 or HPE 258 (Fitness Wellness) can use the fitness center free for that quarter. Fitness Center hours and information.

  • Pause before responding.

Scammers may pose as Clark College or state employees to steal your personal information. Stay vigilant and protect yourself from fraud. Stay safe—think before you share!

Need to Use a Microwave?

Students need to eat. Sometimes you need a microwave. Here are some locations of microwaves throughout the main campus: Basic Needs Hub (GHL 216), Frost Arts Center, Clark Bookstore, Hanna Hall Study Lounge, Culinary, Student Life, JSH near Clark Café, BHL near vending machines, SHL lower level near vending machines, NERD Cave (SBG 102). Please be mindful that other students use this machine, too. Please clean up after you make a mess. Be a resourceful and responsible student.

Career & Personality Assessment Opportunities

Learn more about your unique personality type preferences and discover career possibilities. The Strong Interest Inventory career assessment, and the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator are assessments available to currently enrolled students. They include a detailed report that helps to identify interest areas, career pathways, and personality style strengths & preferences. These assessments are tools to help individuals learn about career options, understand themselves better and relationships with others. Sign-up to complete the assessment(s) and pick an interpretation session date. During the session, you'll receive your report(s) and learn strategies to support with your career or personal development.

Did you know that your local WorkSource offers a variety of free workshops (virtual and in person) to support jobseekers and career changers? Disability Access Center Accommodations

Are you a student who is new to Clark and has a disability? Clark's Disability Access Center (formerly Disability Support Services) supports students with a range of disabilities and health conditions, from depression to ADD/ADHD to Crohn's disease and more. Clark College Dental Hygiene Accepting New Patients

We are looking for new patients to be treated at Clark College by dental hygiene students and the onsite dentist. We offer various services such as dental cleanings, dental exams, radiographs, whitening, fluoride treatments, fillings, nutrition counseling and more. These services are available Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters. Times vary depending on the quarter and appointment. Located in the Firstenburg Dental Hygiene Education and Care Center. You May be Eligible for Support through Workforce Education Services

Workforce Education Services (WES) administers a variety of programs that are designed to support students who are seeking certificates and degree programs with an employment goal, as well as students enrolled in Transitional Studies programs. Students may receive assistance with tuition, fees and books as well as help in accessing other supports to include public benefits by completing the Workforce Education Services Application.

You may be eligible for support through Workforce Education Services if you meet one of the following criteria:

  • Considered low income
  • Receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
  • Receiving federal food benefits (SNAP/EBT)
  • Receiving unemployment benefits
  • Exhausted unemployment benefits within the past 48 months
  • A military veteran discharged within the past 48 months or have an upcoming separation date
  • A displaced Homemaker within the past 48 months
  • A Former Foster Youth and under 22 years old
  • An Unaccompanied Homeless Youth and under 22 years old
