Returning Students

Returning and Continuing Student Placement (Letter grade in English and/or Math)

Students who have completed a mathematics and/or English course and received a grade of A-F, not W, must continue with the course sequence in that subject area. The student does not need to retest.

Returning and Continuing Student Placement (Received a "W" in previous course)

Returning and/or continuing students who have received a "W" in a mathematics and/or English course may register for the course in which they withdrew.  The student also has the option of completing the ALEKS Placement assessment or English placement options if they wish to attempt to improve their placement.

Returning and Continuing Student Placement with Expired Placement (No Letter Grade in English and/or Math or completed Business or Industrial Math)

Students may complete the ALEKS assessment and/or the English placement options for placement into English and/or math coursework if they no longer have a valid form of placement on file. If the student has completed a terminal math course, they must take the ALEKS placement assessment.

Students who have completed a DVED 021 or DVED 023

Students who have received a grade in DVED 021 or who were not successful in completing DVED023 must complete the ALEKS placement assessment to determine their math course level.

Students who were not successful in completing MATH 30 (C- or below) must complete the ALEKS placement assessment to determine their math course level.
