This informative lunchtime session will feature Jane Walster, director of International Programs and Fadel Bader, ENL instructor, who will outline the cultural issues (Islam, family, food, funding, and communication patterns) that often impact interactions and participation on U.S. campuses. They will explain the implications of these issues and discuss ideas and resources that can help address them.

Bring your lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided.

The Student of Color Luncheon speaker is Black by Popular Demand Improv Group.
Established in November of 2013, Black by Popular Demand is comprised of experienced improvisers from a variety of comedy venues throughout the Portland area. Embracing the oral tradition of black culture and comedic tradition of improvisational theater,
Black by Popular Demand uses audience suggestions to inspire stories about community, relationships and the predicaments that ensue. Black by Popular Demand is a brain child of Curious Comedy and includes the smooth improvisational moves of
Leon Anderson, Kimberly Brady, Betse Green, Manuel Hall, Leann Johnson and Jamie Montgomery.
Lunch is provided and open to everyone that would like to join! Doors open at 11:30 and the program begins at 12:00.
