Assessment & Placement

Due to unforeseen circumstances, placement check-in services for main campus have been relocated to Enrollment Services, Gaiser Hall 128.

GED testing is currently unavailable. We will provide updates as more information is available.

What is Placement?

The goal of placement is to assess skills to ensure students are able to successfully engage with course content, and have the best chances at passing the course.

Many courses at Clark College have placement prerequisites for reading and mathematics ability. The courses that students place into determine how they progress through their program of study and how long their degree will take. We have a variety of ways to assess skills — one method doesn’t work for all!

What to do prior to assessment or placement?

Students must apply for admission and pay the $25.00 fee prior to accessing assessment services. Official or unofficial documentation of the following may be provided to Enrollment Services in Gaiser Hall, Room 128 or the Assessment Center located in the Penguin Union Building, Room 015.
