What is eLearning?
Clark College offers a variety of eLearning options giving students the opportunity to attend classes beyond the traditional on-campus experience. Your eLearning options include:
  • Online:
This encompasses classes where class activities are completed in the online environment. Most online classes require no face-to-face contact between the students and the instructor, however there are a few exceptions so always check the class schedule.

  • Hybrid:
These classes combine traditional face-to-face classroom time with the flexibility of online learning. Typically, the on-campus time is reduced by 20 to 80 percent. The rest of the class work is done online.

  • Telecourse:
These classes deliver all course content through videos and the text book. They typically meet weekly for exams. There is no online component to these classes. Video viewing options can be found at http://www.clark.edu/eLearning/telecourse_viewing.php

  • Telewebs:
These classes combine the video component of the telecourse with online activities. Video viewing options can be found at http://www.clark.edu/eLearning/telecourse_viewing.php.

  • WAOL:
These classes are delivered fully online via the Washington State Online Consortium (WAOL). They are fully online. To see if your class is offered through WAOL check the class schedule.

  • Weekend Degree Program:
This program leads a selected cohort of students through a specific course of study towards a general transfer Associate in Arts degree. Cohorts begin every Fall. Courses are hybrid format, meeting 3 weekends throughout the quarter. For more information, see the Weekend Degree Program.
