Surveyors use technology and data to determine land, air, and water boundaries and to map out the physical elements of terrain. They are needed for legal, environmental, and construction work. Currently, more than half of the currently licensed surveyors in Washington state are approaching retirement age. Clark College's Surveying & Geomatics program prepares students for careers in this high-opportunity field.
Students can earn a one-year certificate in Boundary Technician or GIS Technician. Or they can earn a two-year associate degree in Surveying & Geomatics. Classes are held on evenings and weekends to accommodate the schedules of working adults.
