According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for substance abuse, behavioral disorder, and mental health counselors is expected to increase by 25 percent between 2019 and 2029. Clark College's Addiction Counselor Education program prepares students to enter the workforce in this crucial area of health care. Once students have begun working in the field, they can continue their education to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Services (BASHS) degree that provides expanded coursework in behavioral health, a developing area of health care that combines mental health care and substance abuse care that allows professionals to treat their clients holistically.
