Get started on a new career

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Services is definitely a great program for those of us who are older, have kids, and need to work 40 hours per week. From my perspective of being in the field already, the things we’re learning in the classroom are highly applicable.

Addiction Counselor Education and Human Services programs

Train for a career helping others with substance abuse and mental health issues.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for substance abuse, behavioral disorder, and mental health counselors is expected to increase by 25 percent between 2019 and 2029. Clark College's Addiction Counselor Education program prepares students to enter the workforce in this crucial area of health care. Once students have begun working in the field, they can continue their education to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Services (BASHS) degree that provides expanded coursework in behavioral health, a developing area of health care that combines mental health care and substance abuse care that allows professionals to treat their clients holistically.
