Considered Space explores the presentation of space in painting both real and perceived. Several
of the artists allude to physical space through the traditional tools of perspective,
scale, and color and others are integrating real space into painting through dimensional
materials and constructions. The mediums range from oil on linen or canvas to paint
and MDF, paint on constructed wood, and paint on fiber.
Drawing from regional artists, the exhibition will feature work by Jesse Hayward (Portland),
Mark R. Smith (Portland), Grant Hottle (Portland), Adam Sorensen (Portland), Cara
Tomlinson (Portland), Ben Buswell (Portland), and Lise Graham (Seattle).
