Frequently Asked Questions

Registration/Login/Payment

Has your online registration process changed again?

Yes!  But it's all good!  From November 2019 - August 2020 Clark College migrated to a new software system as part of a state wide migration affecting all Washington State Community Colleges.  The system was not user-friendly for continuing education programs and we are happy to announce that we were able to move back to a platform allowing you to easily browse and register for classes online. View our online catalog.

How do I know if I already have a user account?

If you were a student with us prior to October 19, 2019 and you’re using the same email address you did then, you already have a user account and may just need to find your username and/or password.

Why do you need my email?

You are required to fill in your email address when you create an account.  If you ever need to reset your password instructions will be sent to your email address.  In addition, registration confirmations, information about your class and any notifications of changes or cancellations to your class will be sent to your email address.

Can I sign up someone else for a class?

Yes, you may sign up someone else for a class. You will need their name, address, phone number, email address and date of birth. However, please be aware that due to student privacy laws you cannot cancel a class for another student.

How do I pay for my class if I don't have a credit card?

During remote operations you can mail in your registration form with your check to Community & Continuing Education at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver WA 98663 MS CTC 143.

Can I use my financial aid to pay for CCE classes?

Unfortunately we cannot accept financial aid for CCE classes. All classes offered by CCE at this time are not eligible for financial aid due to their non-credit status.

Do you offer scholorships?

We do offer scholarships through the Clark College Foundation for anyone 55 years of age and over. These funds have been provided by private donors who believe in lifelong learning. The scholarship does go through an approval process and can be requested for any CCE class. To request a scholarship, please call registration at 360-992-2939.

Can I be waitlisted for a class that is full?

When you register online your order will go into waitlist status if the class is full.  If someone drops from the class and you are the next available person on the list, we will contact you for your payment information in order to process your registration for the class.

Cancellations/Refunds

How do I cancel my registration for a class?

To cancel your registration for a class and receive a refund you must contact us three business days before the start of the class and request to be dropped. There will be a 10% charge for processing all cancellations. All refunds are issued by check and take 7-10 business days to process.

My class was cancelled due to low enrollment – what does that mean?

CCE is a self-support program.  All of our classes must meet a minimum enrollment to cover the costs associated with running the program. If a class does not have enough students enrolled, we will notify you via phone and/or email.  You will receive a full refund. All refunds are issued by check and take 7-10 business days to process.

Why can't I cancel a class for someone else?

Due to FERPA regulations, we are unable to cancel a class without consent from the student. If you are a husband and wife cancelling a class that you have both registered for, please make sure both of you are available when you call to request cancellation.

General Questions

What is your inclement weather policy?

Your safety is our first concern. In the event of inclement weather please use your best judgment in deciding to attend classes. If inclement weather is anticipated, the main page of the Clark College website, www.clark.edu, will be updated with closures. Community and Continuing Education follows the College’s inclement weather decisions for classes and events on the College’s main campus and Columbia Tech Center (CTC). For classes or events at non-College facilities, students will be contacted by CCE staff if classes or events are cancelled.
