Let Clark College's Fitness Center help you with its 10-week "Biggest Loser" Challenge during winter quarter. Lose weight in a safe way. Be part of real competition. Have fun. Win big and see real results!

How the Program Works.

Each BLC participant is assigned a team, led by a certified Clark College personal trainer coach. Each team meets once a week for a one-hour session during the quarter. Weekly weigh-ins track individual progress and update the leader board.

During the challenge, you can take advantage of pre- and post-challenge fitness testing with state-of-the-art body composition technologies, health and wellness coaching and personalized fitness plans.

Team and individual prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition for the highest percentage of fat mass loss and percentage of lean mass gained. The winning team and individual will also be recognized in the Independent and Clark 24/7.

Who Can Participate?

Current and past Clark College students, faculty and staff are eligible to participate. Applicants with 15 or more pounds to lose are encouraged to apply. Participants must commit three (3) hours or more per week to exercise AND meet for weekly team training sessions.

Timeline & Place

The 10-week challenge program begins the week of January 13 and ends the week of March 17 (finals week). Team training sessions and weigh-ins take place once per week based on your availability submitted with your application. All training sessions occur at the Thompson Fitness Center in the O'Connell Sports Complex, requiring a membership that is included in the challenge participation fee.

Last year's Biggest Loser Challenge winner, Jaimee Keck, lost 41 pounds in 10-weeks.

What to Expect.

The Biggest Loser program gives you the knowledge to achieve real success fitness goals. It aims to improve your quality of life. While only a 10-week program, the benefits will provide the environment to last a lifetime.

Apply Now! Registration for the Healthy Penguin Nation Biggest Loser Challenge closes Friday, December 20, 2013. You can submit the online application or you can complete an application at the Thompson Fitness Center front desk or office in the O'Connell Sports Complex between 6 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 8a.m. to 3 p.m. We will be closed December 24 (Christmas Eve), December 25 (Christmas Day), January 1 (New Year’s Day).

Selection, Notification & Fee

Selected participants will be notified by email on Monday, December 30. Participants will meet with their team coach the following week.

During that first week each participant must pay the $40 participation fee at the cashier's office, sign a waiver, complete a health history questionnaire and conduct the pre-challenge Body Composition Fitness Testing.

The $40 participation fee includes use of the Thompson Fitness Center at Clark College, two body composition fitness tests, a personalized fitness plan, and 10 group sessions with a certified personal trainer. This is a normally a $180 value!
