It may not have been the mega-million lottery, but plenty of students were hoping they were holding a winning ticket courtesy of the Clark College Alumni Association.

The Association’s Random Assistance event held Tuesday, January 4, at the Gaiser Student Center and again at Clark College at Town Plaza on January 5, gave students a chance to win a $25 bookstore gift card. A total of 30 gift cards (15 at the main campus and 15 at Town Plaza) were distributed through a random drawing of raffle tickets that Alumni board members offered to students 30 minutes prior to President Bob Knight drawing from the collected tickets.
At Town Plaza, which had never before hosted a Random Assistance event, President Knight was pleased with the number of students who participated. “I’m so happy to see you all here today and we are proud of your hard work,” said Knight. “I hope to see you in future classes at the main campus because I know you can do it. And as students here, you will always be Clark College alumni too!”
“We ran out of raffle tickets at Town Plaza,” said Alumni Board President
George Welsh (’70). “The enthusiasm and participation by ESL/GED/ABE
students with their teachers’ support was wonderful.”

The Alumni Association is able to conduct this quarterly event because
donations are received for this specific program. “We are happy to continue
this random act of kindness,” said Welsh. “And as long as people keep giving
to Random Assistance, we will keep giving away gift cards.”
