Nominations are now being accepted for the
2007 Clark College Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Award
VANCOUVER, WA – What do a former Washington State legislator, the coordinator of the first Earth Day, and the editor emeritus of The Columbian newspaper have in common? Robert Schaefer, Denis Hayes, and Tom Koenninger are all past recipients of the Clark College Outstanding Alumni Award and they are all eager to know who will join their ranks in 2007.
The Clark College Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2007 Clark College Outstanding Alumni Award. The award recipient will be honored at the 2007 Clark College Alumni Student Dinner.
Nominees for the awards must have attended Clark College for a minimum of one year. In addition, they must have provided: 1) exceptional service(s) to the College through alumni activities, volunteer work, financial support or College employment; 2) exemplary service to the community or 3) outstanding personal or professional achievements.
According to Alumni Association Chair Will Pollard, “All of the past recipients share special traits and accomplishments. They have courage, creativity, perseverance and leadership skills. They all promote the advancement of higher education and improve our quality of life. They are role models for others to follow.”
Clark College interim President Bob Knight noted, “We hope that people will think about all of the Clark alumni that they know – whether they’re from our own community or are one of the international students who have graced our college. It may be someone who is widely known or someone who doesn’t seek the spotlight but whose contributions have enhanced our community and our world.”
