A NEW SCHOOL YEAR BRINGS NEW LEADERSHIP
FOR CLARK STUDENTS
Clark students have elected new leaders to head the ASCC during the 2007-2008 academic year. They are:
President: Patrick Mehigan
Vice President: Derrick Streng
Club Coordinator: Cynthia (Cindi) Kunkle
Patrick Mehigan brings experience as an ASCC programming board member with him to his new office as president.
During his time with ASCC, Mehigan has received leadership training and earned National Certified Leadership credentials. “I believe that our college is a valuable institute of knowledge and the students are the foundation,” wrote Mehigan in his candidate statement.
Derrick Streng intents to apply his life skills and experiences – including time living abroad and his roles as husband and father – to his newest role as vice president of ASCC.
In his candidate statement, Streng shared his feelings about Clark College: “It’s a fantastic institution where students who are hungry for knowledge and serious about study are given wonderful opportunities to better themselves and their respective communities.”
Cindi Kunkle has been involved with college clubs since she began at Clark in 2002 as a Running Start student.
Her four years ofexperience will serve her in her new role as ASCC club coordinator – one she sees as valuable to the college and its students. “Many students do not realize there are clubs,” she wrote in her candidate statement, “so they go straight home after class…To me, clubs are more than just extramural activities; they are people who are passionate for their causes.”
