The Clark College Distinguished Lecture Series was established to periodically bring regionally and nationally renowned speakers to the college to engage students, faculty and the greater community on issues of regional, national and global importance.
Past lecturers have included author, commentator and presidential advisor David Gergen.
Gergen, seen in the photo on the left with Clark College President Robert K. Knight, is currently a professor of public service at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and director of its Center for Public Leadership. He is also editor-at-large for U.S. News & World Report.
Additional Distinguished Lecturers have included Richard Clarke, former counterterrorism czar and author of “Against All Enemies,” and Dr. Jeffrey Wigand, the former tobacco industry executive who blew the whistle on the industry's health safety issues in a landmark "60 Minutes" interview and became the basis for Russell Crowe's character in the film “The Insider.”
