What is Opportunity Grant Tuition Assistance?
It is a funding assistance program that helps eligible Washington state residents enroll in Clark College programs that prepares students for high wage, high demand jobs. Opportunity Grant can help pay for tuition, mandatory fees and required books and supplies for an approved area of study.
What type of training is available?
The following professional and technical programs are approved for Opportunity Grant funds:
- Accounting
- Administrative Support:
Office Skills Modules I, II, III, Clerical Assistant, Receptionist, Office Support Specialist, Office Assistant & Administrative Assistant
- Computer Technology:
Microcomputer Support Specialist & Computer Network Administrator
- Early Childhood Education:
Family Childcare, Early Childhood Education, Advanced Applied Curriculum
- Medical Office:
Medical Office Skills Modules I, II, Medical Receptionist, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, Health Information Assistant, Medical Transcriptionist, Medical Office Support Specialist
- Nursing:
Nursing Assistant Certified, Phlebotomy, RN
- Pharmacy Technician
- Welding:
I-Best Welding, SMAW Arc Welding/Oxyfuel, Wirefeed, Welding Tech Gas Tungsten Arc, Welding Technology
Opportunity Grants provide educational access and support for low-income adults to progress further and faster along high demand career pathways.
Who is eligible?
You may be eligible if:
- You are starting or are enrolled in an Opportunity Grant approved program
- Your current household income is within income limits
- You are a Washington state resident

- Can pay for school expenses and school related expenses
- Helps you get started quickly in a training program
- Prepares students to work in high demand occupations
