College Success Tips |
- A Clark College Catalog is published every two years.
The catalog contains course
descriptions for all Clark courses, as well as other
important college information. The catalog may be viewed on-line.
- Use the Clark College website.
The Clark website is updated on a regular basis and is your best resource
for up-to-date information, including course and program information,
student events and a variety of other college information. Computers
are available on campus for student use.
- You have direct access to your Clark College information
The website's Online Services provides you with a web
registration option, access to your grades, transcript, registration
time and class schedule. KIOSKS
are also available at various campus locations.
- Change your PIN (Personal Identification Number) at least once
a quarter.
Your PIN gains you access to your electronic information. Your PIN
is temporarily assigned as your birth date; to keep your PIN as secure
as possible, it is suggested that you change your PIN regularly. You
can change your PIN through, on-line services and campus KIOSKS.
- Change your address when you move.
Clark College mails important enrollment, registration and general
information to the address that is on record in our systems. You can
change your address through on-line services.

- Be aware of quarterly withdrawal dates and officially withdraw,
if applicable.
Check the quarterly schedule for withdrawal
dates. Failure to officially withdraw from your course(s)
could result in a failing grade, thereby affecting your overall GPA.
- Refunds are calculated based on the date of withdrawal.
Check the registration
calendar for withdrawal dates and the amount of refund that
you will receive.

- Advising is of vital importance.
Degree and transfer requirements are complex. Meeting with your advisor
on a regular basis helps you stay on track and ensures that you are
taking the necessary courses to meet your current learning goals.
You are encouraged to seek advising during non-registration periods,
as advisors are available for more in-depth discussions.
- Maintain a personal file of all your college transcripts and
credit reviews.
Your unofficial transcripts and credit review documents are important
tools to assist you in making your coursework decisions each quarter.
Bring these documents to your advising appointment for assessment
and advising purposes.
- Apply for Financial Aid by the entrance quarter deadlines.
The federal and state laws governing the distribution of need-based
funds are complex and very time-consuming to insure our compliance.
The Financial Aid staff examines each student’s file thoroughly and
often repeatedly as supporting documents are requested, received and
reviewed.
- Allow for adequate time outside of school for homework.
It is estimated that for every 1 hour of lecture, you will need to
spend 2 hours outside of class on homework. Setting aside the necessary
amount of time will help ensure your success as a student
- Apply for graduation by the deadline.
Degrees and certificates are not automatically awarded. Meeting the
graduation deadline provides the Credential Evaluations staff adequate
time to process your degree application and notify you in case you
are deficient in a degree requirement.
The Admissions and Registration Office
look forward to helping you attain your learning goals.
