Clark College has proposed offering a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Dental Hygiene (DH) degree to replace the associate level degree. The proposal has been submitted to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Pending NWCCU’s approval, students will be accepted to the BAS program and begin fall quarter 2015. Dental hygienists are professional members of the dental health team, providing skilled care using the highest professional knowledge, judgment and ability.
The program is accredited
by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The curriculum is seven quarters
and includes those expanded duties allowed by Washington State Law,
including clinical experience in the Clark dental
hygiene clinic under the supervision of licensed dentists
and licensed dental hygienists.
