Sakura Festival Beckons Spring
Not even rain could dampen the spirit Friday, April 17, when Clark College hosted the Fourth Annual Sakura Festival, a celebration of cherry blossoms and a highlight of the college’s 75th Anniversary. Since they were planted in 1990, the 100 Shirofugen cherry trees have filled the college’s main campus with blossoms each spring. And, although the trees were not in full bloom that day, nearly 250 people helped usher in the season by attending the festival which included Japanese cultural displays, music and demonstrations.
