International Studies - English as a Non-Native Language (ENL) Program

English as a Non-Native language (ENL) classes are designed specifically to meet your needs. Our ENL faculty members each hold advanced degrees in language acquisition or related fields. Their expertise will provide you with the most up to date comprehensive language classes available. We offer classes at five levels, beginners to advanced, to help you prepare for success in college-level academics and American life.

How long will it take?
The length of time depends on how well you know the English language and how quickly you learn. It is possible to complete all of the courses in four quarters or one calendar year. The length of time depends on your level.

How much will it cost?
The approximate cost of tuition for ENL classes is the same as regular non-resident tuition for our academic courses. Twelve credit hours (full-time) is approximately $2,673 per quarter and textbooks are estimated at $300 per quarter.

Which courses should I enroll in?
Upon your arrival at Clark College, you will take an English Placement Test that will give you the recommended courses to register for. Your Advisor will assist you with registration.

Can I enroll in college level classes after learning English?
Yes, definitely! An International Student Academic Advisor is available to help you decide a field of study and help you plan your educational goals. Clark College offers more than 125 programs of study. Associate degrees and Certificates are available. Additionally, the International Student Academic Advisor can help counsel you in your transfer opportunities to 4-year institutions.
