Basic Education, a division in the Basic Education, English, Communication, and Humanities Unit, provides increased opportunities for underprepared students to succeed through programs that build the basic and pre-college skills necessary for further education/training and employment.
Basic Education serves a diverse constituency composed of second language learners and the underprepared. We are highly involved in partnering with community agencies in order to support access to basic skills and through that medium encourage students to pursue other programs and training offered by the college.
The Basic Education Department includes:
- Adult Basic Education
- Developmental Education
- English as a Non-Native Language
- English as a Second Language
- General Educational Development Preparation (GED)
- Pathways Center
- Student Learning Center
