Clark College in the Gorge to highlight new winter
class offerings at open house Nov. 24

Clark College in the Gorge

BINGEN, Wash. – Clark College will host an Open House on November 24 at their new Bingen, Washington campus to introduce the new facility and their winter 2015 class offerings to the communities of the Columbia River Gorge. Clark began classes on the campus in September with a Basic AutoCAD class, successfully launching the new Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) program in the Gorge.

The classes being offered for the winter 2015 quarter are:

  • ENGR 150 (CADD 150) – INTRODUCTION TO SOLIDWORKS: Parametric solids modeling with SolidWorks, covering the breadth of the software at a basic level. Create part, assembly, and drawing files, including design tables and multiple configurations. Recommended for anyone comfortable using a PC.
  • CADD 142 – INTERMEDIATE AUTOCAD: A continuation of AutoCAD. Topics covered include: review and continued work with blocks, attributes, and xref's; creating and using dynamic blocks; using annotated text and dimension text; and an introduction to 3D.

Classes are held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students may take individual classes in the AutoCAD and SolidWorks software programs, or pursue a certificate or Associates of Applied Science degree. Registration for winter 2015 classes is now open and students interested in enrolling can visit the Clark College website at http://www.clark.edu/enroll/index.php for more information.

The CADD program is made possible in part by a grant from the State of Washington to help two-year and technical colleges prepare future employees in the aerospace field.

In addition to the CADD program, Clark College in the Gorge (CCG) offers Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) classes to the public. Past professional development courses included Foundations of Supervision and introduction to the Microsoft Office Suite. For more information on upcoming offerings, visit the CCE website at http://cce.clark.edu/.

The Open House will be on November 24, 2014, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at Clark College in the Gorge, 310 S. Larch Street, in Bingen.

To RSVP for the Open House, or for more information on Clark College in the Gorge, please contact Karin Duncker, Columbia Gorge Educational Program Manager at kduncker@clark.edu, or 509-493-1430.
