For Immediate Release
February 12, 2025
VANCOUVER, Wash. — The Clark College Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Doug Harris, presents their Winter Concert on Wednesday, March 12 at 7:30 pm, VSAA Durst Theatre, 3101 N Main St, Vancouver. Admission to the performance free and open to the public. Donations to the Clark College Music Department are welcome at the door.
"One of the best things about teaching in the music department at Clark College is the amazing cadre of applied instructors I have the honor to work with. This concert will feature one of them, James Cameron, as he plays the Rondo from Mozart's 2nd Concerto for Horn. It's a delightful work you're sure to enjoy!
Our concert will open with a powerful new work Aleksander Sternfeld-Dunn Antiphonal Fanfare; it is full of percussion and energy. Also on the program are three orchestral transcriptions, Light Cavalry Overture by Franz von Suppe, Four Scottish Dances, by Malcolm Arnold and The Promise of Living, from Aaron Copland's opera The Tender Land. Rounding out the concert will be Percy Grainger's quirky, yet wonderful, The Immovable Do, subtitled The Cyphering C. Bonus points to anyone who knows the reference! We look forward to seeing you there."
