At Clark, we nurture and provide a welcoming space for students to develop their artistic ambitions. Whether you are interested in getting into the arts or looking to expand your skills, we have a variety of courses that include painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and graphic design.
Our faculty works collaboratively with students to help develop long-term educational goals and prepare them for transfer to four-year institutions. Courses are also offered for students taking electives or exploring the arts.
Archer Gallery
The Archer Gallery is located on Clark's main campus and is home to a curated gallery of contemporary art that serves the college community. The department also sponsors free monthly art talks throughout the academic year providing opportunities to interact with professional artists and see the creative process in action.
Phoenix
Phoenix is an award-winning art and literary magazine fueled by the creativity and contributions of Clark students. The annual effort provides students the opportunity to gain valuable skills in the development of a professional publication. A mix of volunteers and paid student staff work together to produce the magazine every spring.
Career Opportunities
Employment opportunities for Artists exist in a variety of fields that include: art teacher, graphic artist, illustrator, set designer, and muralist.
Clark’s program offers an Associates in Arts (AA) or Associate in Fine Arts degree (AFA) options designed for students planning to acquire foundational skills in a specific discipline or transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor degree program.
