Train for a Career in Diesel Technology
The Diesel Technology program prepares students to work on many types of diesel-powered equipment. Students learn how to repair and maintain systems like brakes, drivetrains, electrical circuits, hydraulics, and diesel engines. Diesel power is used in trucks of all sizes and in heavy equipment like construction and earth-moving machines, so these skills can be used in many different jobs.
Hands-On Learning Experience
The program combines classroom learning with hands-on training. Students spend time in the on-campus diesel lab working on equipment and solving common problems they may encounter on the job with OEM laptop software. This helps build confidence and practical skills so program graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as diesel technicians.
Industry-Standard Engine Training
Students also learn about major engine brands such as Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit. The program includes training in electronic controls and hydraulic systems for those who want to build more advanced skills.
Factory certifications
Students will be introduced to OEM training from manufacturers like Freightliner, Detroit, Mercedes, and Kenworth/Paccar, to name a few. They will be able to complete dealership entry-level training that saves future employers money and time and makes them more employable.
