About the Artist:
Carlton Bell (1941-2008) was an African American welding and welded sculpture artist. Bell also served the the US Marine Corps. He was a professor at Clark College from 1978 into the 1980s. He produced many public artworks, including the Clark College sundial that was designed an made by him with other professors at Clark for the college's fiftieth anniversary. The Sundial is located outside of APH.
Artwork Description:
The scupture depicts a fish arching as if coming out of the water. There are long think wires that act as expressive fins. The scupture sits on a solid base with the artists signature and date.
Acquisition Information:
Gifted to Clark College in 2015 by an anonymous donor.
