Woven in the rugged mountain region of Heriz in northwest Iran, rugs of this era are known for the area’s renowned geometric artistry and bold medallion designs. Heriz weavers were celebrated for their durable wool and strong tribal weaving techniques, influenced by both Persian court carpets and village traditions. These rugs are often admired for their balance of strength and elegance.
