Faculty Speaker Series
Since 2008, the Faculty Speaker Series has showcased experiences that have enriched
both the lives and teaching of Clark’s faculty.
Speakers share their professional development accomplishments with the college community, often addressing some of today’s most intriguing issues.
Clark faculty members are invited to present experiences including sabbatical, research, field work, or community outreach in a variety of formats including panel discussions, interactive workshops, and/or demonstrations.

Mindfulness: Mind Training for College Life

Math professor John Mitchell has returned from sabbatical in which he studied mindfulness, a growing movement that is transforming the lives of students, faculty, and staff at colleges and universities around the world. In his presentation, Mitchell will highlight his research, guide participants through an experiential exercise, and invite student members of the Clark Mindfulness Club to share their experiences. Finally, he will suggest ways in which mindfulness could transform Clark College in the future.

Consider sharing your knowledge and experiences as part of the Clark College Faculty Speaker Series. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the expertise of our faculty members with our college and the greater community. Selected speakers will be paid for up to 8 hours at the non-teaching rate upon completion of the presentation.
The Teaching and Learning Center Committee accepts nominations and applications year round. Nominate yourself or a colleague by completing the online nomination form.

When selected, faculty members will be notified by a representative of the Teaching and Learning Advisory committee.
