Clark College’s Mature Learning Program Hosts Annual Symposium to Celebrate 43rd Anniversary
 

VANCOUVER, Wash.—Clark College’s Mature Learning program, a part of the college’s Economic & Community Development (ECD) division, will celebrate its 43rd anniversary with a symposium that pays tribute to the program’s founder, Dr. Alfred Apsler. The half-day event is being held at Clark College’s Foster Auditorium on March 24, 2016, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The symposium, titled “Focus on History,” features an integrated program with mini-lectures from three history instructors in the Mature Learning program:

The event also will feature performances from Grammy-award winning guitarist Doug Smith and a tribute poem from Clark County Poet Laureate Christopher Luna. Smith and Luna are also instructors at ECD. Recognition of Jim O’Connell, the 2015-16 Volunteer of the Year, and the Clark College Foundation for its ongoing support of Mature Learning will also take place.
