Clark College’s Science Consortium is holding a textile recycling event
on April 25
to support scientific field studies

VANCOUVER, Wash. – In celebration of Earth Day, the Clark College Science Consortium will be holding a collection event for textile fabrics to be recycled. The event will take place on Friday, April 25, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Clark College’s science building in room 105.  Clark College is located at 1933 Ft. Vancouver Way, Vancouver, Washington 98663.

This recycling event will generate funds for the Clark College Science Consortium’s field studies classes, which provide students with valuable hands-on experiences in scientific field research.

Collection items include all household textiles (in any condition), paired shoes (in any condition), towels, gloves and hats, sheets, blankets, quilts, bedspreads, drapes, purses and belts, and stuffed animals. They will not be able to accept glass, breakables, electronics, pet beds, bed pillows, uniforms, carpeting, hotel linens, or items previously for sale at a thrift store.

All items must be kept dry, so they should be dropped off in tightly tied plastic bags.  Plastic bags will be available at the donation site.  Donors can park in Clark College’s Orange lot #2 off East Reserve St.  Student volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles.  Driving directions and parking maps are available at www.clark.edu/maps.
