Clark College Begins Fall Quarter

 

VANCOUVER, Wash. – On Monday, Sept. 23, Clark College opened the doors for its 2013-2014 academic year. The college welcomed 13,373 students on opening day, down slightly from fall 2012, when the college welcomed 13,927 students.  

Clark’s Running Start program welcomed 1,893 students – up 7% from last year.  Clark’s Running Start program is the largest in the state and has seen significant growth over the past several years.

Another area of growth at the college is in international programs.  For the first time, the college has enrolled more than 100 international students.  This quarter, 103 students representing 31 countries are taking classes at Clark College. 

Additionally, through all of its programs, Clark College supports learning for more than 26,000 residents of Southwest Washington each year.

Located in Vancouver’s Central Park and serving up to 14,000 students per quarter, Clark College is Washington state’s largest single-campus, for-credit community college. The college currently offers classes at three satellite locations, one on the Washington State University Vancouver campus, one in the Columbia Tech Center in East Vancouver, and one at the Wind River Education Center in Carson. Additionally, its Corporate & Continuing Education program is housed in the West Coast Bank building in downtown Vancouver.
