English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language classes are designed for non-native speakers and are held at Town Plaza and on the main Clark College campus.
These classes are for adult immigrants and refugees. Course work emphasizes conversational English with attention given to reading, writing, speaking, listening and US culture. For further information, please call (360) 992-2736.

Citizenship classes are offered at the Columbia Tech Center during Fall and Winter and Spring quarters on Tuesdays, 6:30 - 9:20 p.m. These ten-week classes provide preparation for taking the US citizenship examination. The program does not provide citizenship testing. For further information, please call (360) 992-2741.

ESL students will be charged $25.00 tuition per quarter for any and all classes (including Citizenship). For financial help or additional information, contact the Town Plaza Basic Skills Office at (360) 992-2741.


Town Plaza Enrollment Services Office Hours
Monday - Thursday:
  8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Friday:
  8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

How to Enroll - TPC Orientation/Registration Information
You must be 16 years of age or older. If you are under age 19, you must have a release from compulsory high school attendance.

New students at Town Plaza must attend a welcome session.
Please bring a photo I.D. when enrolling.

ESL Welcome Session
Monday 5:00 p.m.
Thursday 11:00 a.m.

Meet in the lobby at Clark College at Town Plaza. You must be on time.

Please do not bring children to the Welcome Session. Children helping you understand are OK. Do not leave children alone at Clark College at Town Plaza.
