Professional Development Funding

Clark College offers funding opportunities for off campus training. Employees may apply in advance for funding that supports training which aligns with the college's mission and core themes. Depending upon whether you are faculty or staff, there is a specific process to follow.

The Employee Development Department processes all requests for administrative, exempt, classified, and temporary hourly employees. Employees may visit the Employee Development webpage located on the Clark Intranet for more detailed information: Employee Development Webpage

Professional development funding for faculty is handled through the

New Employee Orientation

Clark College employees play a vital role in making the college a safe, healthy and productive place to work and learn. The goal of the New Employee Orientation process is to welcome new employees to the college and provide the information and resources they need to succeed in their new position.

New administrative, exempt, classified and temporary hourly employees are provided with a New Employee Success Training (NEST) binder their first week at Clark. Employees work through this interactive binder with their supervisor and/or trainer, gaining access to important policy and employment information and resources that will help ease their transition.

New employees are also invited to attend a New Employee Welcome (NEW) session where they can enjoy refreshments, meet leaders from the organization, and network with other new employees in a fun and friendly environment.

Online Learning

Clark College offers all staff and full time faculty the convenience of online training through our Learning Management System, Higher Ed Works. This training system offers modules on a variety of professional, safety and compliance topics, including Clark specific trainings that meet the diverse needs of the organization. Employees may log into Higher Ed Works here: Higher Ed Works

Employees can request access to lynda.com, an online subscription library that teaches the latest software tools and skills through high-quality instructional videos.  There are a limited number of transferrable licenses available.  Contact kferguson@clark.edu for more information.
