Career Assessment Options
The Clark College Career Center offers the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator career assessments to assist you in making a career choice.
Strong Interest Inventory
The Strong Interest Inventory (Strong) measures patterns of interest and suggests personally compatible career areas to explore. Suggestions are based on interest, not skill level or physical ability. The Strong identifies what you most enjoy doing by comparing your responses to those answers given by people who really love their jobs (in 122 different fields).
Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is the most widely used measure of personality type and preferences. The MBTI identifies and describes your strengths and unique preferences and helps you to answer the questions: "What would I enjoy doing?" and "How can I use my strengths to reach my career goal?"
Purchasing Strong and MBTI Assessments
Each assessment costs $30 and includes scoring, a printed career report and a 1.5 hour small group interpretation with a counselor.
Purchase coupons for these assessments at the Clark College Bookstore, then visit the Career Center next door, in Gaiser Hall 108, to receive further instruction. You may also call the Career Center 360-992-2155 to pay over the phone by credit card and request instructions via email. These assessments are taken online and may be completed in the Career Center or at home.
Upon completion, you receive your results at a small group interpretation session. Interpretations are offered weekly from September to June, and bi-weekly during summer. Check the quarterly schedule for a convenient time. Call 360-992-2155 for more information.
