2. What is my Student E-mail Username and Password?

Username:

  • 1st initial of 1st name + period (.)
  • last name
Examples of User names:
Name Username
Joe Smyth j.smyth@students.clark.edu
Cindy Champion c.champion2@students.clark.edu
Sandy Lee s.lee@students.clark.edu

Note: For some common names, the new convention will result in duplicate e-mail addresses and usernames. Duplicate e-mail addresses and usernames will be resolved using a numeric suffix after the e-mail address/username (e.g., c.champion2@students.clark.edu). Because numeric suffixes will be applied in some cases, it is not possible to predict the e-mail address/username with certainty. To solve this problem, we have created a web page where students can look up their e-mail address/username.

Password Criteria

  • Minimum length: 8 characters

Use a Passphrase for your Password
The easiest way to remember your password is to use a so-called passphrase. Passphrases are generally very difficult to crack, and offer a higher level of security than passwords. Combining words to make a phrase, with a few misspellings and a character substitution or two, can make a good password.

For example, try the following passphrases:

A general statement: “I would love to work for you!”
The resulting password would be: Iwl2w4y!

Directions to a location: "Down McLoughlin Boulevard, 2nd on the Right!"
The resulting password would be: DMB2ndR!

Other examples are:

  • Sun$hine
  • I8acookie
  • Ur2nice
  • wusiwUg!
  • Ckpoint?
