A celebration 75 years in the making
Honors for Clark's 75th Anniversary Celebration
Clark's Diamond Jubilee earned national honors from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) and regional honors from the Portland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
The NCMPR Silver Medallion award was presented to the college for its communications program in support of the celebration. The PRSA Spotlight award honored the planning and execution of the overall celebration. The CASE silver award of excellence recognized the commemorative book created by the college for the 75th anniversary celebration.
The Clark College Cannell Library, Clark County Historical Museum and Fort Vancouver Regional Library District were all been invaluable resources as we researched the college's history in preparation for our Diamond Jubilee. We thank them for their generosity and support. In addition, the archives of The Columbian newspaper and the Clark County Sun newspaper provided depth and helped ensure, as much as possible, the accuracy of facts and dates. And we extend our thanks to the administrators, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters -- past and present -- who shared their memories and lent their distinctive voices to our 75th anniversary celebration.
