Events

Clark College hosts hundreds of exceptional events each year - attracting members of the greater community as well as students, faculty and staff.  Signature events include:

Clark College Commencement

Each June, Clark hosts two celebrations of student success. Clark graduates receive degrees and certificates during the college's annual Commencement ceremony. Clark also hosts a GED/High School Completion recognition ceremony.

Clark College Faculty Speaker Series & Distinguished Lecturers

The Clark College Faculty Speaker Series, established by Clark College with support from the Clark College Foundation, honors individual faculty members and celebrates academic excellence.  The Clark College Distinguished Lecture Series was established to bring regionally and nationally renowned speakers to the college to engage students, faculty and the greater community on issues of regional, national and global importance.

Clark College Jazz Festival
For nearly 50 years, Clark College has hosted one of the largest jazz festivals in Southwest Washington. Held during the last weekend in January in Gaiser Hall on Clark's beautiful main campus, the Jazz Festival attracts more than 60 high school vocal and instrumental jazz ensembles for the three-day competitive festival.

Clark College Sakura Festival

In Japan, the fleeting beauty of the cherry blossoms – or sakura – represents the frailty of existence – a brief explosion of color and brightness for the duration of their short life.  At Clark College, the annual Sakura Festival welcomes spring, honors a historic gift, and celebrates an international friendship.

Iris Awards

The annual Iris Awards honor women of achievement in Southwest Washington.

State of the College Address

The State of the College Address is delivered annually by the president of Clark College.  It provides an overview of highlights and accomplishments from the past year as well as challenges and exciting opportunities for the future.
