Her responsibilities included diversifying funding sources to increase revenue.

Das, who resides in Vancouver, notes, “I welcome the opportunity to work in the education sector. Education is among the most basic individual rights to live a vibrant and productive life. According to Clark College President Robert K. Knight, “As our new Director of Grants Development, Shelley Das will provide leadership, coordination and technical assistance for grants development throughout the college.  She’ll collaborate with faculty and staff, the Clark College Foundation, employers, and our community partners to develop and acquire federal, state, local and private sector grants to develop programs and support our students.”

Knight added, “Grants provide an important resource for the college to develop innovative projects and promote student success.  Funding from grants allows us to achieve that margin of excellence we seek for all of our students."

During 2007-2008, Clark College obtained grants worth over $3 million in support of college programs and student success.  The grant dollars came as a result of a college-wide effort to increase grant support through the college's Office of Planning and Advancement.
