Clark College will ring out 2008 with exciting sports action
as the college hosts the ninth annual Clark College/U.S. Army
Men’s Basketball Holiday Tournament

Penguin Athletics LogoVANCOUVER, Wash. -- College sports fans will want to head to the O’Connell Sports Center for exciting tournament action during the ninth annual Clark College/U.S. Army Men’s Basketball Holiday Tournament. The 2008 tournament will be held from Dec. 27-29.

The first round of games will take place on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 8 p.m.  The semifinals will take place on Sunday, Dec. 28 at noon, 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The finals will be held on Monday, Dec. 29 at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. 

Special events include a Dunk/Three Point Contest from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Dec. 28.  On the final day of the competition, the BlazerDancer team, whose 16 members dazzle audiences during Portland Trail Blazers games, will make a special appearance on Dec. 29 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. After their performance, they will greet audience members and sign autographs.

In addition to the host team from Clark College, teams from Centralia College, Chemeketa Community College, Portland Community College, Seattle Community College District, South Puget Sound Community College, Treasure Valley Community College and Wenatchee Valley College will compete in the holiday tournament.

Tickets will be available at the door.  Daily ticket prices for admission are $5 for adults and $3 for members of the military, seniors and students. 

Children under six are admitted free of charge.  Clark College students are also admitted free of charge. On December 27, members of regional boys and girls high school basketball teams will be admitted free of charge with their Associated Student Body (ASB) cards.
