Teacher Education

Bachelor of Applied Science

Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of becoming a teacher, or maybe this is something you’ve recently been thinking about. Either way, Clark College has a clear path for you to a career in teaching. We now offer a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Teacher Education (BASTE). The BASTE degree is designed to help those with an AAS in Early Childhood Education or other AA/BA degree to become a certified teacher for ages preschool thru 8th grade!

BAS programs are designed to be stacked on top of an existing associate degree, allowing you to build on your existing education. Don’t have an associate degree? That’s ok too. We can help you plan a path to get that as well.

Our BAS in Teacher Education also offers 5 different endorsements:

  1. Elementary Education (Kindergarten through 8th grade)
  2. Early Childhood Education (Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade)
  3. Elementary Special Education
  4. Early Childhood Special Education
  5. Bilingual Teaching (must currently be multilingual)

Teachers are in high demand regionally, and the BAS in Teacher Education program will prepare you for a long and meaningful career educating the next generations of learners.

Clark College has been a part of the Southwest Washington community for 90 years. We are an equity-centered institution committed to helping our students grow and find successful, living-wage careers. We can’t wait to see you on campus or online!
