Clark's student-run newspaper serves the college community by providing readers with timely and factual information and by providing a forum for public expression. The college newspaper is also a learning laboratory where student staffers garner real-world experience as reporters, editors, photojournalists and managers.
In one format or another -- as The Independent, the Penguin's Progress, The Clark Junior College Sentinel, or The Penguin Bulletin, to name just a few identities -- the publication has served the college community for more than 70 years.
The Independent is published every other Wednesday throughout the fall, winter and spring quarters.
